“Richard’s Run for Life” has raised more than $748,000 in the last 12 years.
“Richard’s Run for Life” 5K Race, which is part of the Gonzmart Family Foundation — a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization — was created by Columbia Restaurant President Richard Gonzmart as a way to combine his love for running with his long-time desire to find a cure for cancer.
Each year the Tampa Bay community gets together to run for life through the streets of Ybor City.
“It is hard to believe it's been 13 years since I created “Richard’s Run for Life” under the Gonzmart Family Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, to raise funds for research at Moffitt Cancer Center. Many of our lives have been touched by those who have had cancer and I have personally lost family members and dear friends to this horrible disease. My passion to find a cure for cancer is huge and I am motivated to help Moffitt beat this horrible disease.”
